Opening
Hi, My name is Doug Spencer and I feel the ASPCAis an important organization. They've been serving my community as well as yours for well over 100 years. This is because of one mans dedication to get his point across when faced with a problem. Today I'll explain the name behind this organization and responsibilities taken place to live behind what one man thought was a good cause.

Body
Born in 1813, Henry Bergh was a man concerned about the lack of compassion in animals. When he was touring Europe, thats when he seen cruel acts towards animals. Bergh was curious to sse what he could do to help these harmless creatures. After all, he visited the president of Englands Royal Society in America. When he went to New York in 1866, Bergh encouraged a group of attendants that there are cruel humankind that dont car about animals feelings. He stated that "animals are entitled to kind a respectful treatment in the hands of humans." In a matter of months, the New York State legislature passed an anticruelty law which encoraged Henry to successfully develop what is the first humane society in North America. The first building was structured in 1866 in New York which where the mainheadquarters rest.

Back to the first days of the ASPCA, as many as 300 dogs were rounded up and taken into the shelter. The society has expanded from the New York headquarter to nationwide. Several programs ranging from the New York region to natiionwide serves a main purpose of making sure non-profited funds are put in place to fully rehabilitate harmless creatures.

Now you may be asking, Is that all the organization does? Youre right if you answered no. They also have the jurisdiction to arrest an animal abuser to help people with their out of control animals.

There's reported 5,000 case recorded every year resulting in more than 300 arrest due to harse abuse to animals. The ASPCA offers counseling services for those who have lost a long loved pet. Pet owners who cant cope with their deceased pets might want to contact a local office to set up an appointment to seek help, if needed. The organization also is there for out help with out of control pets. There is dog trainers and services they offer for you and your loved one to be happy. If there is financial needs for vet bills(dealing with shots or any of the basic needs of means of survival) the society is there also. If there is a need for financial assistance, make sure you get on the lines with a representative so you can be taken care of.

Closing
Every year the ASPCA tries to get better at showing people that they care. There is history behind what has been set from Henry Bergh himself. When he said there is a need for animals to have 100% kindness and respectful treatment, there has been complete loyalty taken day-to day from employees. unit 2 relection blog revised

I chose to do my podcast over the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals . The society is important for putting focus on providing animals with the right care they need. The focus was the responsibilities they have and who started the organization. Some responsibilities I stated were counseling activities they offer, and financial assistance they offer. Also I talked about the owner which is Henry Bergh. This topic is for anyone and everyone because everyone needs to know some history behind everything. The overall purpose and etc. was meant to make the audience aware of whats going on in the humane socities and adequate help is needed, such as volunteering and/or donating. Animals are the next thing to humans and we need to know that they have feelings and want to feel good also. Im proud that I found out how to actually do a podcast. Podcast are the next big thing and the audience prefers to listen to someone talk other than looking at a webpages in my opinion. I think its the entertainmanet factor about what a podcast has to offer thats makes people want to listen in. If I had more time, I'd fix my recording. I would play around with Audacity to make my recording alot better because I dont think it came out right. I just dont feel good about how I sound on the recording and I would need to get more comfortable with talking and listening to myself. There was also a noise that I couldn't control while recording that just sounds so annoying to me. It did not make me feel good after hearing what I recorded. My reasearch method was pretty good I would say, but I could have went more indepth with that part of the podcast. I would have also took more time out to sit down and research my info and do more planning on how im going to organize my facts into the podcast. There was info that I could have went more in detail about. The sources were good and very supplemental to me in helping develop what is my first podcast. Honestly, I think my topic wasn't really strong and I could have done better in choosing a more in depth topic also. I hope the grade turns out better than the webtext grades. Overall, I feel that the podcast is a good project that can help the audience engage in getting more facts out of a person that is speaking by word of mouth. The podcast prompt states it should be more like you are talking to your friend and youre going to get the point across to your friend and make sure they understand, so I believe there's alot you can do with the project.
